Notification preferences

This article explains how you can manage your email notifications in JOIN to stay informed about product activity, candidate updates, and other relevant topics.

Notifications in JOIN are email-based alerts that help you and your hiring team stay up to date. All notifications from JOIN are sent via email and are designed to help you stay informed about updates and activity related to your hiring process. These include:

  • Actions taken within the product (e.g. job postings, new applications)

  • Updates about new features or improvements

  • Guidance and offers to support your hiring journey

You can choose to receive or stop receiving these email notifications by turning them on or off in your personal settings.

Notifications are user-specific, meaning each team member can customise their own preferences.


Managing notifications

Notification settings give you full control over which updates you receive in your inbox. From candidate alerts to product news, you can customise your preferences. Be sure to review them regularly to keep your inbox relevant and your hiring process efficient.

To customise your notifications:

  1. Click your profile icon in the bottom of the left menu and go to User Settings .

  2. Select the Notifications tab.

  3. Use the toggle switches to turn specific notifications on or off. If a toggle is switched on, you’ll receive those notifications in your email inbox. If it’s off, you won’t receive them.

  4. Click Save Changes to apply your preferences.

You can also unsubscribe directly from your inbox using the unsubscribe link included in each email (when available). Some essential system emails (e.g. subscription or platform alerts) cannot be unsubscribed from.


Types of notifications

Jobs

  • Job posted Receive a confirmation when a new job is published.

  • Job archived Get notified when a job is archived, including the job details.

Candidates

  • New candidates Get notified when someone applies to your job. The email contains the candidate’s name, the role they applied for, and a direct link to view their application.

  • New spontaneous applications Be alerted when a candidate send a spontaneous application. These include similar details to standard applications.

Candidate notifications can build up quickly if you're receiving many applications. To manage this effectively:

  • Create a folder or label in your inbox (e.g. "JOIN Applications for Product Manager")

  • Set up a rule to automatically move candidate emails there

  • Check it daily to avoid missing out on strong applicants

News & resources

These notifications are not linked to actions inside the product but help you stay updated with relevant information and opportunities.

  • Product launches & updates Be the first to know about changes in JOIN that affect your hiring workflow — from new features to improvements and important announcements.

  • JOIN offers & specials Receive limited-time offers on JOIN subscriptions or special promotions on premium products from the Store.

  • Events & webinars Stay informed about upcoming JOIN-hosted events and educational webinars. Topics often include best practices, hiring tips, platform walkthroughs, and sessions with partner job boards.

  • Onboarding emails A series of expert tips and feature overviews sent shortly after you sign up. These help you understand JOIN’s tools and how to use them effectively.
