# Subscription plans

JOIN offers a flexible subscription model designed to grow with your hiring needs — whether you’re managing a few open roles or scaling recruitment across multiple teams. This guide explains how JOIN subscriptions work, the types of plans available, and how to manage your job limit, upgrades, or cancellations.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only users with the `Admin` role at the company level can view and manage billing settings.

View [Member management](/account-settings-and-billing/member-management.md)
{% endhint %}

All subscription management happens in the `Billing` section of your account. To access it, go to:\
`Settings` → `Billing`

{% hint style="info" %}
The `Billing` section is only visible after your account has been approved. If you're new to JOIN, please allow a short moment after account creation.
{% endhint %}

Each JOIN subscription has two core components:

* **Tier:** Choose from `Standard`, `Advanced`, or `Enterprise`
* **Job limit:** Decide how many `active jobs` (online + offline) you want to manage at the same time

{% hint style="warning" %}
You cannot mix tiers or split job limits across plans. For example, you cannot have 2 jobs in Standard and 3 in Advanced. You select one tier, and then choose your job limit within that tier.
{% endhint %}

### Understanding job slots, job limits and active jobs

To manage your hiring, JOIN uses a simple concept: **job slots**. Here’s how it works:

<table><thead><tr><th width="146.0616455078125">Term</th><th>What it means</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Job slot</strong></td><td>A single slot that allows you to have one job active at a time.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Job limit</strong></td><td>The total number of job slots you purchase.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Active jobs</strong></td><td>The sum of all jobs that are either <code>Online</code> (published and visible to candidates) or <code>Offline</code> (not published but still accessible in your account).</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
Jobs in `Archived` status do not count towards your active job limit.
{% endhint %}

Here's an example to understand this better:

Let’s say you are on a plan with a job limit of 5. This means you can have a total of 5 active jobs at a time that are either online or offline. For example: 2 Online, 2 Offline, 1 Archived means that you still have 1 job slot left to publish another job.

On the `Billing` page, your current usage is shown as “X/Y”, where:

* The first number shows how many job slots are currently in use
* The second number shows your total allowed slots\
  E.g., `2/5` means you're using 2 job slots out of the 5 available.

### Available subscription plans

JOIN’s plans include:

* **Standard** – For essential hiring needs
* **Advanced** – For growing teams needing expanded features and integrations
* **Enterprise** – For customised workflows, advanced integrations, and tailored support

Each plan includes a defined number of [job slots](#user-content-fn-1)[^1], which determine how many active jobs you can have at the same time.

<table><thead><tr><th width="222.9765625">Feature</th><th>Standard</th><th>Advanced</th><th>Enterprise</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Active jobs</strong></td><td>Up to 20</td><td>Up to 20</td><td>Custom</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Users</strong></td><td>Unlimited</td><td>Unlimited</td><td>Unlimited</td></tr><tr><td><a data-footnote-ref href="#user-content-fn-2"><strong>Multiposting</strong></a></td><td>Standard</td><td>Advanced</td><td>Advanced</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Automated messages</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Pipeline management</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Scorecards</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Career page</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Job widget</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Chrome extension</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>AI job ad builder</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Roles and permissions</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Assessments</strong></td><td>✓ <em>(Beta)</em></td><td>✓ <em>(Beta)</em></td><td>✓ <em>(Beta)</em></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Talent Pool</strong></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Screening questions</strong></td><td>Pre-defined</td><td>Custom</td><td>Custom</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Support</strong></td><td>Email</td><td>Chat</td><td>Chat</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Spontaneous applications</strong></td><td></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>JOIN API</strong></td><td></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Candidate export</strong></td><td></td><td>✓</td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>ATS integrations</strong></td><td></td><td></td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Custom integrations</strong></td><td></td><td></td><td>✓</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Custom pricing</strong></td><td></td><td></td><td>✓</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Understanding free-access options

JOIN offers limited free access depending on the region you sign up from. Here’s how it works:

#### Free Trial

When you sign up as a new company, you will start with a <mark style="color:blue;">14-day free trial</mark>.

During the trial, you can:

* Publish up to 5 active jobs
* Manage candidates in JOIN
* Use your account without a paid subscription

After the trial ends:

* All active jobs are moved to `Archived`
* Candidate management is no longer available
* You still keep access to your account

{% hint style="warning" %}
To keep jobs online and continue managing candidates after the trial, [upgrade to a paid plan](https://join.com/settings/company/billing?source=companySettings) before the trial ends.
{% endhint %}

You only need to subscribe or provide payment details if you want to:

* Post more jobs than allowed in the trial.
* Access additional features by switching to a different tier.

#### Standard Free Plan

If you have a legacy account, you can use JOIN with <mark style="color:$primary;">2 active jobs for free</mark>. This access does not expire.

You can use JOIN with no subscription by default. The `Standard Free` plan includes:

* Up to 2 active jobs for free, at any time
* Access to limited [organic multiposting](/promoting-jobs/organic-multiposting.md) and core ATS features like pipelines, scorecards, and more

You don’t need to subscribe or enter payment details unless you want to:

* Post more than 2 jobs at once
* Access advanced features by switching to the `Advanced` or `Enterprise` tier

You can [upgrade anytime](https://join.com/settings/company/billing?source=companySettings)

### Downgrading subscription

JOIN supports flexible downgrade options. Downgrading means losing access to certain features included in higher-tier plans. These will be clearly listed before you confirm the change. All downgrades are scheduled for the **end of your current billing cycle**.

You can go to `Settings` → `Billing` and downgrade by :

* Reducing your job limit
* Switching to a lower tier
* Cancelling your paid subscription

{% hint style="success" %}
You can cancel or adjust a scheduled downgrade anytime before the end of your billing period via the `See Details` option on the `Billing` page.
{% endhint %}

#### Downgrade from Advanced to Standard

On the Billing page under “Available plans”:

1. Find the card for the 'Standard plan'.
2. Click `Downgrade to Standard` .
3. A modal window will open titled “Select number of jobs”. Use the dropdown menu to choose the total number of job slots you want.
4. Click `Continue` .
5. You will see a modal that alerts you about the features that you'll lose access to and mentions if any active jobs will be archived according to your new job limits.
6. Confirm the downgrade by clicking `Proceed to checkout`.

You will remain on your current plan until the end of the billing period. All upcoming changes will appear in the top-left plan summary section.

<figure><img src="/files/ITevMNIYtrdZuS9q4mg1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Downgrade from Enterprise

Downgrading from an Enterprise plan requires JOIN support because this plan is contract-based.

{% hint style="warning" %}
You can only downgrade from Enterprise if you have a requirement for less than 21 jobs as Standard and Advanced plans support only up to 20 jobs.
{% endhint %}

If you want to **downgrade to Standard**:

* Click `Contact us` on the Standard plan card.
* Follow the steps in the pop-up form and click `Submit` to send your request to our team.

If you want to **downgrade to Advanced**:

* Click `Contact us` on the Advanced plan card.
* Follow the steps in the pop-up form and click `Submit` to send your request to our team.

<figure><img src="/files/P0sASYas5Epe2F824woE" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
For monthly Enterprise plans, downgrades apply at the end of the current billing cycle.

Yearly Enterprise plans can only be downgraded after the full term ends.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="danger" %}
If your current Enterprise job limit is, for example, 150, and you downgrade to 15 job slots in Standard, all active jobs above that limit will be archived automatically when the new plan activates.
{% endhint %}

#### Cancelling subscription

If you are on a paid plan, you can cancel your subscription at any time from the `Billing` page. The cancellation flow depends on the type of customer and the plan you are on.

1. Go to `Settings` → `Billing` .
2. Go to the plan summary section on top-left and click `Cancel plan`.
3. You will see a cancellation modal listing all the features you will lose when the cancellation takes effect. This would include jobs that will be archived, paid features (e.g., advanced multi-posting, custom screening questions, ATS integrations, JOIN API, etc.), or any other plan-specific capabilities.
   1. If you change your mind, click `Keep subscription`.
   2. If you still wish to cancel, click `Continue`.
4. You will be asked to select a reason for cancelling. Provide the required information, then click `Submit cancellation` .

<figure><img src="/files/WuHFOlGsZ7q38J4H6nBW" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After you submit your cancellation, the `Plan summary` box on the top-left shows an information banner, that says:

> Plan cancellation scheduled. **See details**

You can view the details of your upcoming cancellation at any time by clicking `See details` in the cancellation banner. This opens a modal that shows:

* `Scheduled on` – the exact date when your subscription will end
* `Plan` – your current plan and what happens after cancellation
* `Next payment` – the amount of your next payment, which is typically €0.00 once cancellation is scheduled

From this modal, you can also:

* Click `Undo cancellation` to keep your current subscription active, or
* Click `Close` to leave the cancellation as scheduled

<figure><img src="/files/2Whuz1qoESAjk4zOCQTT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Your plan will remain active until the shown end date.
* Your `Plan Summary` box will update to show the cancellation status.
* You may still undo the cancellation until the subscription end date by clicking `Undo cancellation` in the `Plan Summary` box.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="For companies" %}
If you decide to cancel your subscription:

* All active jobs will be archived at the end of the billing period.
* You will retain access to your account, but no free job slots will be available.
* To post jobs again, you must subscribe to a paid plan with at least 1 active job.
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="For legacy accounts" %}
If you cancel your paid plan:

* Your subscription ends on the date shown.
* Your account remains accessible after cancellation and you keep up to 2 active job slots for free.
* All paid features are removed.
  {% endtab %}
  {% endtabs %}

### Undo scheduled downgrade

After scheduling a downgrade, the `Billing` page will show a grey banner with the option to see more details about the scheduled changes to your plan. Click `See details` to view the a breakdown of: new plan and tier, change in number of job slots, new price, and when the downgrade will take effect.

You can click `Undo changes` to cancel the downgrade before it is applied.

All cancellations are scheduled to take effect at the end of your billing cycle. You’ll remain on your current plan and keep access to your job slots and features until then.

<figure><img src="/files/6P3t8J7N9IXdB9aJf2VJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
You must cancel at least 1 day before renewal to prevent auto-renewal of your ongoing subscription plan.
{% endhint %}

While a cancellation is scheduled, you won’t be able to make any other changes to your subscription. To update your plan or job slots, you’ll first need to either wait for the cancellation to take effect or undo the cancellation to reverse it.

### FAQ's

<details>

<summary>What is an “active job”?</summary>

Jobs with the status `Online` or `Offline` are considered active.

* Online: Visible to candidates and posted on partner job boards
* Offline: Hidden from applicants but still open for managing existing candidates
* Archived: Closed roles that do not count toward your active job limit

Read more: [Job statuses](/jobs/job-statuses.md)

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does my JOIN subscription continue if I'm not actively using it?</summary>

Yes. Your JOIN subscription remains active and continues billing, regardless of usage. Your plan is based on your job slot limit and tier, not on actual job activity. This includes:

* Having no published jobs
* Setting all jobs to `Offline`
* No active candidates or applications

Example: If you're subscribed to 5 job slots but all jobs are `Offline`, your subscription still runs unless you downgrade or cancel it.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I pause my subscription if I’m not hiring?</summary>

No. JOIN subscriptions continue running unless cancelled. You can downgrade or cancel anytime from via `Settings` → `Billing`.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I downgrade and change my job limit at the same time?</summary>

Yes.

* On `Standard` and `Advanced` plans, you can change your job limit while downgrading by using the `Update plan` button. In the same flow, you can increase or decrease the number of job slots for your new plan.
* If you are on an `Enterprise` plan and want to downgrade to `Standard` or `Advanced`, you must click `Contact us` on the target plan card and tell us how many job slots you would like to have after the downgrade.
* If you only want to change the number of job slots on `Enterprise`, click `Add job slots` in the plan summary box to increase your limit. To reduce your number of job slots on `Enterprise`, you need to contact JOIN Support.

When you submit a plan change request, ou

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I subscribe to different job limits in different tiers?</summary>

No. You can only choose one plan and job limit at a time. Mixing (e.g., 2 active jobs on Standard + 2 active jobs on Advanced) is not possible.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What happens to my premium job ad if I downgrade/cancel?</summary>

Your premium job ad will go offline once your trial or subscription ends unless a valid job slot is active. Always ensure your plan includes enough job slots to keep all your premium job campaigns live.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I change my Enterprise plan during the term?</summary>

For monthly billing: Yes, you can make changes to the plan anytime and the changes will reflect at the end of the billing cycle.\
For yearly billing: Changes only possible after 12 months.\
For job limit decreases: Contact JOIN Support or your account manager.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How is my subscription billed and where can I find payment rules?</summary>

JOIN subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly, depending on your chosen plan. For full details on billing methods, invoices, and overdue payment rules, please refer to the [Payment & Billing](/account-settings-and-billing/payment-and-billing.md)\
article.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can JOIN pricing vary between accounts?</summary>

Yes. JOIN pricing may differ based on:

* Promotions
* Loyalty discounts
* Account type or usage volume

`Enterprise` plans always have custom pricing. To check your current rates, go to `Settings` → `Billing` in your account.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What if I'm on a legacy plan?</summary>

A legacy plan is a subscription that is no longer available in JOIN's current pricing or plan structure. These plans may have been set up under previous terms or rates and are now being phased out.

If you're on a legacy plan (e.g., `Advanced (Legacy)` or an Enterprise plan that shows the message *“Your plan is no longer available and will be cancelled”*), you’ll also see an expiry date for your current plan.

Here’s what this means:

* You can still cancel or manage your subscription until the plan ends
* Upgrades or job slot changes must be scheduled for the next billing cycle, unless coordinated with our support team
* You can switch to a new plan tier anytime — just click `Choose [New Plan]` in the `Billing` tab and follow the steps to update your subscription

{% hint style="warning" %}
If no action is taken before the cancellation date, your legacy plan will be terminated automatically.
{% endhint %}
