Subscription plans

Learn how JOIN subscription plans work, including how to choose the right tier and job limit, upgrade or downgrade, manage billing, and understand job slots, active jobs, and limitations.

JOIN offers a flexible subscription model designed to grow with your hiring needs — whether you’re managing a few open roles or scaling recruitment across multiple teams. This guide explains how JOIN subscriptions work, the types of plans available, and how to manage your job limit, upgrades, or cancellations.

Only users with the Admin role at the company level can view and manage billing settings.

View Member management

All subscription management happens in the Billing section of your account. To access it, go to: SettingsBilling

The Billing section is only visible after your account has been approved. If you're new to JOIN, please allow a short moment after account creation.

Each JOIN subscription has two core components:

  • Tier: Choose from Standard, Advanced, or Enterprise

  • Job limit: Decide how many active jobs (online + offline) you want to manage at the same time

Understanding job slots, job limits and active jobs

To manage your hiring, JOIN uses a simple concept: job slots. Here’s how it works:

Term
What it means

Job slot

A single slot that allows you to have one job active at a time.

Job limit

The total number of job slots you purchase.

Active jobs

The sum of all jobs that are either Online (published and visible to candidates) or Offline (not published but still accessible in your account).

Jobs in Archived status do not count towards your active job limit.

Here's an example to understand this better:

Let’s say you are on a plan with a job limit of 5. This means you can have a total of 5 active jobs at a time that are either online or offline. For example: 2 Online, 2 Offline, 1 Archived means that you still have 1 job slot left to publish another job.

On the Billing page, your current usage is shown as “X/X”, where:

  • The first number shows how many job slots are currently in use

  • The second number shows your total allowed slots E.g., 2/5 means you're using 2 job slots out of the 5 available.

Understanding free-access options

JOIN offers limited free access depending on the type of account you have. Here’s how it works:

Standard Free plan

If you're a company looking to hire (not a recruiting agency that is hiring for other companies), you can use JOIN with no subscription by default. The Standard plan includes:

  • Up to 2 active jobs for free, at any time

  • Access to limited organic multiposting and core ATS features like pipelines, scorecards, and more

You don’t need to subscribe or enter payment details unless you want to:

  • Post more than 2 jobs at once

  • Access advanced features by switching to the Advanced or Enterprise tier

Upgrading subscription

You can upgrade your subscription at any time (unless you’re on a legacy or yearly plan). Upgrades take effect immediately. Go to SettingsBilling to begin. You can upgrade to:

  1. Increase job limit while staying on the same pricing tier

    1. Click Manage Plan

    2. Use the dropdown to select a higher number of jobs

    3. Click Update plan to confirm the upgrade

    4. The changes to your new job limit will take effect immediately

  1. Upgrade from Standard to Advanced

    1. Under the Advanced plan, click the Choose Advanced button

    2. A modal window will open titled “Upgrade to Advanced plan”. In this upgrade modal, you’ll be asked to select the number of jobs (Job Slots) you want for your new plan

    3. Review the summary on the right, which includes pricing and any available discounts

    4. Click Upgrade plan to confirm your new plan and job limit

If you wish to select fewer job slots than you currently have:

  • First, go back to the Billing page

  • Click Manage Plan to reduce your job slots under your current plan

  • Once that change is saved, return to Choose Advanced and proceed with the upgrade

The upgrade will take effect immediately, and your billing will be updated accordingly.

To switch to the Advanced plan, you must select at least 3 active jobs.

3. Upgrade to Enterprise

The Enterprise tier is ideal for larger hiring teams with custom requirements. It includes support for higher job limits, custom pricing or billing conditions (e.g., annual contracts), tailored contracts, and integrations.

To request an Enterprise plan:

  1. Click Contact us under the Enterprise section on the Billing page

  2. Fill out the form:

    • Preferred number of jobs

    • Preferred billing cycle (monthly or yearly)

    • Special requirements (e.g. ATS integrations, API usage)

  3. Submit your request

Our team will contact you with a custom offer.

Downgrading subscription

JOIN supports flexible downgrade options. Downgrading means losing access to certain features included in higher-tier plans. These will be clearly listed before you confirm the change. All downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current billing cycle.

You can go to SettingsBilling and downgrade by :

  • Reducing your job limit

  • Switching to a lower tier

  • Cancelling to move to the free Standard plan (non-agency only)

  1. Downgrade from Advanced to Standard

    1. Click Downgrade to Standard

    2. Choose your new job limit (must be ≤ your current limit)

    3. Click Downgrade plan to confirm the downgrade

    4. Downgrade is applied at the end of your billing period

  1. Downgrade from Enterprise

    1. Click Downgrade to Advanced or Downgrade to Standard

    2. In the downgrade modal:

      • Select the new number of job slots (must be equal to or fewer than what you currently have)

      • Confirm your billing address and payment method

      • Review the new plan price and next payment amount

    3. Confirm by clicking Downgrade plan

    4. A confirmation modal appears showing which features you will lose. Click Confirm to complete the downgrade

  1. Downgrade to Standard Free

To cancel your paid tier and use the free 2-job version of Standard:

  1. Go to SettingsBilling

  2. Click Cancel subscription

This option is only not available for recruiting agencies.

Undo scheduled downgrade

After scheduling a downgrade, the Billing page will show a grey banner with the option to see more details about the scheduled changes to your plan. Click See details to view the a breakdown of: new plan and tier, change in number of job slots, new price, and when the downgrade will take effect.

You can click Undo changes to cancel the downgrade before it is applied.

Cancelling subscription

You can cancel your JOIN subscription at any time via the Billing tab. All cancellations are scheduled to take effect at the end of your billing cycle. You’ll remain on your current plan and keep access to your job slots and features until then.

You must cancel at least 1 day before renewal to prevent auto-renewal of your ongoing subscription plan.

There are two ways to cancel, depending on your current subscription tier:

1. If you're on the Enterprise plan

  • Go to SettingsBilling

  • In the current plan section at the top, click the Cancel subscription button

  • Follow the confirmation steps to complete the cancellation

  • Your cancellation will be scheduled and visible in the billing overview

2. If you're on the Standard or Advanced plan

  • Go to SettingsBilling

  • In the current plan section at the top, click the Manage plan button

  • A modal will open showing your current job slots and payment details

  • On the right side of the modal, click Cancel subscription

  • Follow the confirmation steps to complete the cancellation

  • Your cancellation will be scheduled and visible in the billing overview

While a cancellation is scheduled, you won’t be able to make any other changes to your subscription. To update your plan or job slots, you’ll first need to either wait for the cancellation to take effect or undo the cancellation to reverse it.

FAQ's

What is an “active job”?

Jobs with the status Online or Offline are considered active.

  • Online: Visible to candidates and posted on partner job boards

  • Offline: Hidden from applicants but still open for managing existing candidates

  • Archived: Closed roles that do not count toward your active job limit

Read more: Job statuses

Does my JOIN subscription continue if I'm not actively using it?

Yes. Your JOIN subscription remains active and continues billing, regardless of usage. Your plan is based on your job slot limit and tier, not on actual job activity. This includes:

  • Having no published jobs

  • Setting all jobs to Offline

  • No active candidates or applications

Example: If you're subscribed to 5 job slots but all jobs are Offline, your subscription still runs unless you downgrade or cancel it.

Can I pause my subscription if I’m not hiring?

No. JOIN subscriptions continue running unless cancelled. You can downgrade or cancel anytime from via SettingsBilling.

Can I downgrade and change my job limit at the same time?

You can downgrade your plan and reduce your job limit at the same time. However, you can’t increase your job limit during a downgrade. For example, you can move from 5 jobs on Advanced to 3 jobs Standard plan. But you cannot move from 5 jobs on Advanced plan to 8 jobs on the Advanced plan.

Can I subscribe to different job limits in different tiers?

No. You can only choose one plan and job limit at a time. Mixing (e.g., 2 active jobs on Standard + 2 active jobs on Advanced) is not possible.

What if I want more jobs than my downgraded plan allows?

If you're downgrading from Enterprise to Advanced or Standard and need more job slots than the new plan allows, you can:

  • Complete the downgrade first, then upgrade your job limit within the new plan, or

  • Contact JOIN Support or your dedicated Account Manager to adjust your Enterprise setup before downgrading

How do subscriptions work for recruiting agencies?

Agencies begin with a 14-day free trial. After that:

  • A paid subscription is required to continue using JOIN

  • At least one job slot is needed to keep jobs online

  • JOIN Premium campaigns also require valid job slots

What is the minimum job limit for recruiting agencies?

Agencies can subscribe to as few as 1 job slot, or even 0 job slots, in the Standard or Advanced plan. However:

  • With 0 job slots, you cannot publish any jobs

  • You will need to add job slots to activate or republish postings

What happens to my premium job ad if I downgrade/cancel?

Your Premium job will go offline once your trial or subscription ends unless a valid job slot is active. Always ensure your plan includes enough job slots to keep all your premium job campaigns live.

Can I change my Enterprise plan during the term?

For monthly billing: Yes, at the end of the billing cycle. For yearly billing: Changes only possible after 12 months. For job limit increases: Contact JOIN Support or your account manager.

How is my subscription billed and where can I find payment rules?

JOIN subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly, depending on your chosen plan. For full details on billing methods, invoices, and overdue payment rules, please refer to the Payment & Billing article.

Can JOIN pricing vary between accounts?

Yes. JOIN pricing may differ based on:

  • Promotions

  • Loyalty discounts

  • Account type or usage volume

Enterprise plans always have custom pricing. To check your current rates, go to SettingsBilling in your account.

What if I'm on a legacy plan?

A legacy plan is a subscription that is no longer available in JOIN's current pricing or plan structure. These plans may have been set up under previous terms or rates and are now being phased out.

If you're on a legacy plan (e.g., Advanced (Legacy) or an Enterprise plan that shows the message “Your plan is no longer available and will be cancelled”), you’ll also see an expiry date for your current plan.

Here’s what this means:

  • You can still cancel or manage your subscription until the plan ends

  • Upgrades or job slot changes must be scheduled for the next billing cycle, unless coordinated with our support team

  • You can switch to a new plan tier anytime — just click Choose [New Plan] in the Billing tab and follow the steps to update your subscription
