Account deletion

This article explains how to permanently delete your JOIN company account, what happens to your data, and important steps to take before and after deletion.

Deleting your JOIN account is a permanent action and cannot be undone. Once deleted, all company-related data will be permanently removed from JOIN, including:

  • All candidate applications

  • All job ads, both active and archived

  • Any active premium bookings and subscriptions

  • Any remaining JOIN credits or inventory

  • All job analytics and SEO ranking progress

This action also immediately cancels any active subscriptions. Please note that any unused time in your current billing cycle will be forfeited and is not refundable.


Temporarily hide your company profile

If you're unsure about deleting your account, you can temporarily pause it instead. This allows you to hide your company profile and go offline while preserving your data and account setup.

When you pause your account:

  • All job ads are archived, not deleted, and can be restored later

  • Candidate and application data remain accessible

  • Active premium bookings are lost, but your inventory remains intact

  • Your career site and job listings are hidden from users, search engines, and job boards

To pause your account:

  1. Go to Settings > Career page

  2. In the top-right corner under Profile visibility, use the toggle switch to set your company profile to offline

  3. Click Save changes to apply the update


Deleting company account

Only users with the System Admin role can delete the company account.

To start the deletion process:

  1. Go to Settings > Company details

  2. Scroll to the Account deletion section

  3. Click Show more to reveal the Delete Your JOIN Account button

  4. Click Delete Your JOIN Account

  5. A confirmation pop-up will appear showing:

    • The number of candidate applications tied to your jobs

    • A list of jobs with active applications

    • A reminder that this action is permanent and irreversible

  6. Review the information and click Delete Account to confirm

After you confirm the deletion request, your account enters a 7-day grace period. During this time, you can contact JOIN Support to reverse the deletion if needed. After the grace period, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted. Final backup data is fully erased within 60 days.

After the 7-day grace period, the deletion is final. If you wish to return to JOIN later, you can create a new account. Email addresses used in the deleted account become available again and can be reused for a new registration.


FAQ's

Why can't I see the delete button or delete my account?

If you're unable to see the delete option or nothing happens when you click it, try the following:

  • Make sure you have the System Admin role in your company account

  • Go to Settings > Billing and click View to check for any unpaid invoices

The company account can only be deleted once all open invoices are fully settled.

What happens after I delete my account?
  • All job ads are taken offline immediately. It may take up to 48 hours for them to disappear from external job platforms

  • Candidate applications are permanently deleted and removed from dashboards

  • All premium bookings, JOIN credits, and subscriptions are cancelled

  • Your account enters a 7-day grace period during which you can contact JOIN Support to reverse the deletion

  • After 7 days, all associated data is permanently deleted. Backup data is fully erased within 60 days

Can I remove just one team member instead of deleting the account?

Yes. If your goal is to remove a specific person from the team, there's no need to delete the entire company account.

To remove a team member:

  1. Go to Settings > Team

  2. Find the relevant team member

  3. Click the bin icon to remove them
