# Applications overview & filters

### Applications overview

In JOIN, all incoming applications are grouped into three sub-tabs under the `Applications` tab:

* `Active`: Applications that are currently in the `Screening`, `Qualified`, or `Offer` hiring state
* `Hired`: Applications that have been marked as hired
* `Rejected`: Applications that have been rejected

You can view and manage these applications from the `Applications` tab in the sidebar menu. Each view gives you access to search tools, filters, sorting, and customisable column options.

### Applications table

Each application is listed in a structured table with sortable columns — ideal for reviewing candidates and progressing them through your pipeline. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll see in the applications table:

<table><thead><tr><th width="184.96875">Column</th><th>Description</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><code>Name</code></td><td>Displays the candidate's name and profile image. Click the name to open the candidate’s profile. Use checkboxes to select one or multiple candidates for bulk actions.</td></tr><tr><td><code>Applied for</code></td><td>The job title associated with an application.</td></tr><tr><td><code>Stage</code></td><td>Displays the current pipeline stage for the application. You can update it using the dropdown menu. </td></tr><tr><td><code>Job location</code></td><td>The location assigned to the job the candidate applied for.</td></tr><tr><td><code>Email</code></td><td>The candidate's email address.</td></tr><tr><td><code>Applied on</code></td><td>The date the application was submitted or was added to account.</td></tr><tr><td><code>Candidate country</code></td><td>Shows the candidate's country if they entered it in the application form.</td></tr><tr><td><code>GDPR status</code></td><td>Indicates whether consent has been requested or given. If candidates are added manually or via the Chrome extension, JOIN sends a consent request automatically. <a href="/pages/Bq6sSqeGnU8hprbJDYYD">Learn more</a> <i class="fa-square-arrow-up-right">:square-arrow-up-right:</i></td></tr><tr><td><code>Source</code></td><td>Where the application came from (e.g. <code>Manually imported</code>, <code>Talent Pool</code>, or <code>Chrome Extension</code>).</td></tr><tr><td><code>Tags</code></td><td>Tags assigned to the application. Click a tag icon <i class="fa-tag">:tag:</i> to view or add more.</td></tr><tr><td><code>CV</code></td><td>If a CV is available, click to view or download it.</td></tr><tr><td><code>Actions</code></td><td>Includes a quick reject button and a more options <i class="fa-ellipsis-stroke">:ellipsis-stroke:</i> menu. You can click to open additional options like <code>Copy email</code> or <code>Download CV</code>.</td></tr></tbody></table>

#### Additional table features

* Use the pagination controls at the bottom of the table to view 10, 25, 50, or 100 entries per page.
* You can scroll the applications table horizontally to view more columns or vertically to view more rows.
* The `Name` column is fixed and always visible when scrolling.

### Search and quick filters

You can quickly locate specific applications in two main ways:

#### 1. Global search

Use the search bar at the top of the main menu to search for a candidate's name from anywhere. Alternatively, press `Cmd + K` (Mac) or `Ctrl + K` (Windows) to open the search.

### Using filters

Use filters to narrow down your list of applications based on specific details.

Click the `Filters` button to open the full list of available filters. You can apply one or multiple filters at the same time. Click anywhere on the screen close the dropdown.

To the right of the `Filters` button, you’ll see two dropdowns with quick access filters:

* `Job`: Filters applications by job title
* `Job status`: Filter by the job’s publication status (e.g. `Online`, `Offline`, `Archived`)

#### Available filters

Click the `Filters` button to view all standard filters. You can apply multiple filters at once. Available options include:

* `Hiring state` : Filter by application stage: `Screening`, `Qualified`, or `Offer`
* `Application source` : Filter by where the application came from, such as `Imported`, `Talent Pool`, `JOIN Chrome Extension`, etc.&#x20;
* `Application tags` : Filter by tags added to the candidates
* `Candidate country` : Narrow down applications based on the candidate's location
* `Application date` : Use the date picker to select a specific day or range
* `Job` : Filter by all jobs the user has access to
* `Job status` : Filter by status including `Online`, `Offline`, and `Archived`
* `Job location` : Filter based on the locations assigned to jobs

{% hint style="info" %}
Each time you select a filter, the table updates automatically. Filter buttons turn blue once applied and show how many options are selected.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

#### Resetting filters

All filters work independently and persist as you navigate between application sub-tabs.&#x20;

There are multiple ways to reset filters:

* Click on an individual blue filter pill and then click `Reset filter` to remove just that filter.
* Open the `Filters` menu and click `Reset all filters` at the bottom to clear everything.
* If no results are found, you’ll see a "No exact matches" message and a `Clear filters` button to quickly start over.

{% hint style="info" %}
The `Filters` button turns blue when filters are active and grey when cleared.
{% endhint %}

### Customising table view

You can personalise your application table by adjusting visible columns and sorting options.

1. Click the settings icon <i class="fa-gear">:gear:</i> (top-right of the table).
2. Under `Visible data`, toggle on or off the fields you want to display

   Available columns include:

   * `Applied for`
   * `Stage`
   * `Job location`
   * `Candidate country`
   * `GDPR status`
   * `Source`
   * `Tags`
   * `CV`
3. Toggle on/off the columns you want to see. The `Name` column is fixed and cannot be hidden.
4. Reorder columns by dragging the six-dot handle <i class="fa-grip-dots-vertical">:grip-dots-vertical:</i>next to each visible column.
5. You can also sort applications by different fields under `Sort by`. Choose how you'd like to order your table:
   * `Name`: `A to Z` / `Z to A`
   * `Applied on`: `Newest first` / `Oldest first`

{% hint style="success" %}
Customising your view allows you to reduce visual clutter and focus on the most relevant candidate information.
{% endhint %}
