LinkedIn Pay-for-Performance (P4P)
JOIN also supports Pay-for-Performance (P4P) job ads. This billing model is designed to give you more flexibility and control over your recruitment budget by charging only for real engagement.
How P4P works
Pay-per-click: You only pay when a candidate clicks on your job ad.
30-day budget cycle: Each campaign runs for 30 days, with LinkedIn optimising placements to deliver the best results.
Easy Apply included: Candidates can apply directly with their LinkedIn profile, streamlining the process and increasing application rates.
Benefits of P4P
Cost control: Choose a budget that matches the urgency of your role (Small, Medium, or Large).
Targeted reach: Ads are shown to relevant candidates through search results, personalised job recommendations, emails, LinkedIn feed, and mobile notifications.
Performance-based spending: Pay only for qualified engagement, not for general visibility.
What influences costs
The cost per click (CPC) is dynamic and depends on:
The job’s location
The title and competition for similar roles
Market activity in your industry or region
Certain irrelevant clicks are excluded, such as multiple clicks from the same person in one day or clicks from outside your target market.
P4P ensures your investment is spent effectively by reaching candidates who are genuinely interested in your role, while giving you flexibility to scale visibility with the budget you set.
LinkedIn Slot integration
In addition to pay-per-performance (P4P) job postings, JOIN also supports LinkedIn Slot integrations. Slots are designed for companies with ongoing hiring needs and provide a more cost-effective way to promote multiple jobs throughout the year.
What are LinkedIn Slots?
A LinkedIn Slot gives you the flexibility to keep a certain number of premium job ads active at any time. Jobs can be rotated in and out of a slot daily, allowing you to decide which roles receive premium visibility on LinkedIn.
Benefits of using Slots through JOIN
Exchange jobs in and out of slots on a daily basis.
Slots are often more cost-effective than paying separately for individual promoted postings.
Assign jobs to slots directly within JOIN and manage everything from your JOIN inventory.
All applications from promoted jobs sync directly into your JOIN account.
Promoted jobs through slots also benefit from LinkedIn’s Easy Apply feature.
How LinkedIn Slots work with JOIN
Slots are based on an annual contract.
Once integrated, you can manage them entirely from JOIN.
Any existing LinkedIn slot contract can be connected to JOIN, even if it was purchased directly with LinkedIn.
Jobs assigned to a slot will be published as premium ads on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn Slots are not available in the JOIN Store. They can only be set up through a custom agreement. If you are interested in LinkedIn Slots, please contact your dedicated Account Manager or our Support team.
Job quality guidelines
To keep your job postings live and effective on LinkedIn, it’s essential to follow their job quality standards. All jobs posted must include accurate, complete, and clear information about the role and your company.
Key guidelines to follow:
Avoid discrimination based on protected characteristics
Ensure the title matches the description and responsibilities
Clearly state if the role is unpaid (e.g. internships, volunteering)
Include the role’s location and any travel/relocation expectations
Only post genuine, active job openings
Use professional, error-free language (avoid emojis, slang, or jargon)
Do not ask for personal information upfront (e.g. ID, photos)
Use your company’s domain email to increase trust with candidates
LinkedIn may remove job posts that don’t meet these standards, even if posted via JOIN.
For full details, see LinkedIn’s quality job post guidelines.
